Characteristics

VM-10A

The VM-10A is a viscosity meter without thermometer. The VM-10A lab viscometer is a torsional, oscillation type viscometer driven by piezoelectric ceramics. This patented technology measures product viscosity via an angular-acceleration sensor at a high resolution.

The viscomate probe is a stand mounted unit. The sensor portion that comes in direct contact with flowing liquid is of a solid structure that requires no maintenance. The small detecting element allows measurement with minimal volume (<10ml with appropriate container). Viscosity results are displayed almost instantaneously, and the detector is easily cleaned for the next sample. The system contains no moving parts, seals or drive motors, making Viscomate the most reliable bench-top viscometer.

The Viscomate control unit indicates viscosity in a LED display, and has a standard RS 232C port.

VM-100A

The VM-100A lab viscometer is, for measurment of viscosity and temperature, a torsional, oscillation type viscometer driven by piezoelectric ceramics. This patented technology measures product viscosity via an angular-acceleration sensor at a high resolution. The temperature is also measured together with viscosity at the some time.

VM-200T2(T3)

VM-200 series are designed as the higher accurate bench type viscometer, with the same torsion-balanced type sensor as FVM-80A series.

With a larger detector, the flow height does not affect the accuracy of measurement as long as the detector is immersed into the fluid, of which feature is different from other VM series.

The measurement accuracy of viscosity is ±2% of reading and Repeatability is ±1%.

Principle(VM-10A·VM-100A)

  • The basic principle is the same as FVM-80A series inline type viscometers.
  • Once the detector, actuated by piezo-electric ceramic, is immersed into the fluid, amplitude of the detector get decreasing in cooperation with viscosity. This change of amplitude is detected by Angular-acceleration sensor, and calibrated to viscosity.
  • This theory of measurement is same as the one of FVM series. Only the difference is the resonant frequency on VM-10A and 100A is 0.5 KHZ.
